Deaf Low Secure Service at All Saints HospitalThis low secure service provides a vital link in the care pathway and transition to a less restrictive environment for Deaf patients. It is well researched that Deaf patients are detained in inappropriate levels of security for considerably longer periods of time than hearing patients, making the transition from high or medium secure care extremely problematic due to lack of appropriate services. Referrals are accepted from courts, prisons, other hospitals and community placements. Patients can also be transferred from Medium Secure services at St Mary's Hospital. All patients will be detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) and will be placed following a detailed pre-admission assessment and risk management plan Location of Deaf Low Secure ServiceThis service is located at All Saints Hospital in Oldham |
