Visiting

Visiting Hours are generally:

Monday to Friday 1.30pm to 2.30pm and 6.00pm to 7.30pm
Saturdays and Sundays 2.00pm to 5.00pm and 6.00pm to 7.30pm

Please try to keep to these times so that the therapy times are not disrupted. However, if you are having difficulty with this we will always try to be flexible and accommodate your needs. If you would like to visit outside these times please speak to the Registered Manager or the Nurse in Charge.

Normally we restrict the number of visitors to two per patient at any one time. This is because many of our patients tire easily and can be overwhelmed by too many people all at once. There may be exceptions to this - please speak to the nurse in charge to request a greater number of visitors. There may be times when we have to ask you not to visit or to keep the visit short in the interests of the patient. Please do not be offended - sometimes patients are not well enough or simply too tired to receive visitors.

Children are welcome - but again please be sensitive to the needs of your friend/relative and of other patients too. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and remain the responsibility of that person at all times. There may be occasions when we feel it is not appropriate for children to visit. Again, please do not be offended by this - we have to consider the needs of all the patients. We should be grateful if you would ring the unit prior to visiting with children and speak to the nurse in charge who will advise you whether this is appropriate.

Mobile phones can be very disruptive to the patients - please make sure you switch them off or to silent during the visit.

If you wish to bring food for your relative/friend please mention this to the nurse in charge to check whether it is suitable - many patients may have swallowing difficulties or be on a special diet.

No alcohol may be brought onto the unit

The Chester Health Park is strictly a NO SMOKING area, please do not bring cigarettes into the unit or smoke in the car park.

Comments, compliments and complaints

We hope you are happy with the service we offer at St Cyril's. If you have any comments which would help us improve the service or if there is anything you are unhappy about, please talk to the nurse in charge or write to the Registered Manager at the unit. We will try to keep all parties informed and give clear and accurate information at all times. If you feel we are not doing this well enough or you would like further information, please ask a member of staff. We may not be able to answer your query immediately, but we will get back to you as soon as possible.
