St Cyril's Rehabilitation Unit is the latest addition to St George Healthcare Group's specialised rehabilitation facilities located in the North West of England.
St Cyril's take patients from the start of December 2009. We are currently in the process of accepting referrals and providing pre-admission assessments prior to this date.
St Cyril's Rehabilitation Unit was developed by senior clinicians to address the national shortage of rehabilitation beds for patients with complex neurological and rehabilitation needs.
St Cyril's Rehabilitation Unit is a purpose built facility located in the grounds of the Countess of Chester Hospital which houses 20 en-suite single rooms with ceiling hoists, assisted bathing facilities and spacious recreational areas. The Unit provides specialist accommodation and rehabilitation facilities to meet the needs of individuals with physical disabilities and/or sensory or cognitive impairments.
We are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care and treatment for patients, their families and carers. The Unit benefits from a highly equipped physiotherapy gym, Occupational and conventional suites, which use advanced computerised tools to work with physical and cognitive impairments, a Hydrotherapy pool and a beautiful sensory garden within pleasant grounds.
St Cyril's also benefits from two transitional living bungalows providing the complete care pathway to community living.
The unit provides rehabilitation services for most acute and long-term neurological conditions such as:
- Acquired Brain Injury
- Stroke
- Spinal injuries
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Neurodegenerative Disorders
- Neuromuscular Disorders
We also offer Specialist Rehabilitation Programmes including but not limited to some of the following packages:
- Spasticity management programme (including chemodenervation)
- Low awareness / vegetative state assessment
- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME) inpatient rehabilitation programme
- Specialist Multiple Sclerosis relapse service
- Chronic pain management programme
- Independent living facilities to enable a smooth transition to community living
