Our comprehensive assessment services will ensure that each patient receives an individualised assessment in regards to their own specific needs, the assessment packages will be completed by senior members of our clinical team with a wealth of experience in the areas described below:

This service will enable individuals who have suffered an acquired brain injury who have specialised complex needs to have a complete spectrum of specialist assessments under one roof and negate the need to wait months or years for formal diagnosis or recommendations for treatment care pathways.
Service Philosophy and Values
We work in partnership with individuals, Medical Legal Services, Case Managers, Solicitors, Courts, Criminal Justice Services, Commissioners, Care Co-ordinators, their families and carers to provide the highest quality patient care in an environment which respects individuals’ rights for dignity, privacy and individuality in order to undertake the appropriately identified assessments.

Assessments
The assessments will be carried out over a maximum of a ten day period and will be facilitated on a residential basis at St Mary’s Hospital, Warrington or St Cyril’s Rehabilitation Unit, Chester. The assessment process will be a comprehensive “one stop shop” and will include a pre-assessment that will identify individual need which will in turn shape the assessment package.
On arrival, a planned package of assessment measures will be undertaken, this will be reviewed and shaped as required. At the end of week one a multidisciplinary meeting will be held to review progress and make the necessary plans for week two.
By the end of week two all necessary assessments will be completed, and where necessary, a full programme of neurorehabilitation will have been designed and be ready for implementation. (Interested parties will be invited to attend the feedback meeting).
The completed report will be forwarded to referrers within 28 days of assessment completion.
Accommodation and Facilities
Our assessment services are completed in a purpose-built suite for residential stays. The facilities will enable a spectrum of the highest possible quality assessment to be undertaken to meet the individualised care needs of the client.

Referral Process
Referrals are welcome from all over the United Kingdom and Ireland. We aim to respond to all referrals within two weeks. Following the referral an initial outpatient assessment will be completed this can be facilitated at St Mary’s Hospital or the patients residence.
We aim to make our referrals process as simple and accessible as possible. St Mary’s Hospital have a central admissions team trained to handle your referral or any questions you may have, our team are able to offer guidance throughout every stage of the referral process.
