2. Will I have my own bedroom?
Yes, take a look at a room photograph.

3. Can I go out when I want to?
The MDT's will plan leave from the ward with you. If you are detained under the Mental Health Act, there will be restrictions on Leave. Your Nurse and Doctor can discuss this with you.

4. Will my friends and family be able to visit?
Friends families and carers are encouraged to visit.Free car parking is available. Public pay phones are available on each ward to keep in touch with family.

5. Who pays for my care?
Most of the patients are funded by the National Health Service. As part of your admissions process, the hospital will work with referring and purchasing bodies to agree funding. Admission to our services occurs only after funding has been agreed. Patients may choose to self pay or use insurances to pay for treatment.

6. Is there information for Carers?
St Mary's provides a Carers handbook which you will be given to you when you visit or forwarded to you upon request, St Mary's also holds a monthly Carers forum meeting on Site.

7. As a Carer can I be involved in Patient Care planning?
Yes. You can speak to medical and nursing staff about your views, you will be invited to attend the Patients Care Programme Approach meeting and can also attend the Carers forum meeting details of which are fed back to the Hospital Authorities.

8. Do Staff Communicate using BSL (British Sign Language)?
Our deaf service development has been based on actively promoting Deaf culture and provides a Deaf centred approach where all services are delivered in British Sign Language (BSL). There is an expectation that all staff will use BSL, to the best of their ability and are provided with BSL training appropriate to their needs.
